I'm a writer and artist from India. I'm intrigued by the ways in which art & writing can be utilized to understand / question / dissect themes of gender, culture, travel, and everyday banalities.
D e c o n s t r u c t i n g .
I’m a writer, editor and artist with an academic background in International Studies and Biotechnology. I’ve lived in four countries across three continents, and my articles on travel and gender-related issues have appeared in The Hindu, Waging Nonviolence, Truthout, New Internationalist, BootsnAll, Verge Magazine, and Fodor’s (forthcoming).
As an illustrator, I love putting pen to paper, so to speak, and primarily work with traditional mediums, focusing on a range of realistic subjects as well as graphic essays. My art has been featured on Drawing the Times, a Dutch platform for comics journalism; The Hindu, one of India’s leading daily newspapers; and Indian Cultural Forum.
As a self-taught photographer, observing the world through the lens of my camera has enabled me to appreciate it in ways that I otherwise cannot, and notice the poetry contained in seemingly ordinary things.
